I have learnt is that it doesn’t matter where you buy your spices from you need to ensure you buy a premium quality to get the right flavour of the spice. It’s like buying any fruit or vegetable, true flavour will only come from quality and freshness. Herbs and spices are exactly the same.
Some of the spices we buy from the supermarket in small packs have been on the shelf for some time, and usually in our pantry for some time. Often it will not give the fresh flavour you were hoping for and hence you may replace it with salt instead.
Arthur told me if we order a ground spice from Spice Road Spices, he will toast and grind your spices the day prior to mailing to your kitchen. For me that’s great to know.
